#WeSeeYou Rally Impact:
-
NO Johns stopped to purchase girls
-
NO women or girls were sold
-
Everyday ordinary Houstonians CAN stop trafficking
For two days, several hundred Houstonians came out to Bissonnet Street, Houston’s most notorious red light district, for Free the Captives’ #WeSeeYou Rally. We sent a clear message to the Johns, or men buying sex, that “We see you!”
During the rally, on our stretch of Bissonnet, not a single John stopped his car to buy a girl. We completely disrupted the traffickers’ business with our rally. Not a single teenaged trafficking victim was bought, beaten or raped by a buyer. The Johns saw our signs and kept on driving! We are grateful to everyone who came out to the rally, especially the men. Thank you for being a voice for our girls!
Our rally was a tremendous success! We have already started planning the next one. If you want to get involved, come to our next volunteer meeting on Nov. 5, Sunday at 4pm at Access, 8570 Katy Freeway #116, Houston, TX, 77024.
It was an honor to have legendary baseball player, Lance Berkman, speaking at Free the Captives’ #WeSeeYou Rally along with HPD Chief of Police Art Acevedo, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, County Attorney Vince Ryan, and Free the Captives’ executive director, Julie Waters.
Make a difference, and buy our amazing teen trafficking survivors’ hand-poured soy candles! Our girls made these candles this summer, and each candle comes with a handwritten note for you. And the candles smell heavenly, especially our newest scent – the “Freedom” candle! Don’t miss out!
Buy a candle TODAY, and make our girls’ day!
