WHY WE NEED YOU TO PRAY FOR FREE THE CAPTIVES
Prayer is one of the most powerful tools that we have to fight sex trafficking. Over and over again, Free the Captives has seen God answer specific prayer requests for the teenaged sex trafficking victims that we serve. We need your help. If we could only ask for ONE thing, it would not be money or your time. We would ask that you commit to praying for Free the Captives daily and the teen girls that we serve. Fighting human trafficking is hard and difficult ministry. Your prayers bring freedom to the girls and help our staff and volunteers to persevere in the face of incredible challenges.
People often regard prayer as a passive activity, and they feel like they are contributing very little, when in reality, this is the most important thing anyone can do. Please do not underestimate your role in fighting sex trafficking through prayer. This is more powerful than working with the girls “hands on” or volunteering for one of our projects. The hardest part is always seeing immediate results to your prayers, but we try to remedy that with our Facebook page where we post both prayer requests and God’s answers to them. Please take the time to pray for us daily.

Almost daily, we post prayer requests for specific teenaged trafficking victims in the Houston area that we serve, and it is amazing to see God answer these prayers. Sometimes within hours! We have seen teen victims rescued by law enforcement because of prayer as well as prayers answered for their restoration and rehabilitation. It is always exciting to see a teen survivor get a job or to see a broken, hurting family experience peace because of your prayers!

Get Prayer Requests through Texts
There will be three to four emergency prayer requests sent as text messages monthly. These are prayer requests that are generally happening that day and require immediate prayer, either for teenaged sex trafficking victims in Houston or for Free the Captives’ staff, volunteers, and programs. Due to the nature of sex trafficking and the fact that underage girls are involved, the prayer requests will be general vague to protect their privacy and to not interfere with any ongoing investigations or rescue operations by law enforcement. Nevertheless, thank you for praying. It truly makes a difference.

What are some Bible verses on prayer?
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18).
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express” (Romans 8:26).
“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16b).
